Basic Rules of a Bomber Run

A bomber run requires coordination and cooperation by everyone involved. The rules of a bomber run are fairly simple, if you have patience. Usually one person will take control (Host) and will begin assigning each pilot to a team. A common "run" involves 3 teams, labeled "Axis", "Allies", and "Bomber". This is used to simulate an allied bomber run on an Axis airfield. Two of the most common airfields used are, Interlaken and Berne. Due to their proximity to each other they make excellent choices. Pilots assigned to the "Axis" team should change their aircraft to a German Fighter, ie; Fw190 or Bf109. Pilots assigned to the "Allied" team should change their aircraft to a Allied P-51 Fighter. Pilots assigned to the "Bomber" team should change their aircraft to a Bomber.

After everyone gets set up in the ready room, hit the ready button in the lower right hand corner, the game will now launch and you will find yourself in the air over Interlaken. (***DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE UPON ANYONE NOW, OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GET THE BOOT FROM THE HOST IMMEDIATELY***) The "Allied" and "Bomber" teams should land at Interlaken now, form up at the end of the runway, facing North and wait for the "Axis" team to get to Berne and land. The "Axis" team should begin flying NorthWest until you reach Berne airfield. Land your aircraft at Berne and form up for take off at the end of the runway. When the "Axis" team is formed up and ready, announce this to the host. More recently, we use the CFO option to go directly to Berne, land if you need to, and then get off the runway to allow others to use their CFO also.

Once everyone gets down safely and formed up, the "host" will say ********go*********. According to the rules set up at the beginning of the mission, All teams may take off at this command, or only the Allied teams with the Axis team waiting until the Allies are a fixed distance away (25,000 is usual)  The "allied" bomber used to attempt to fly to Berne and land at that airfield.  Now we actually bomb Berne and then return to land at Interlaken.  The "Axis" team should begin intercepting the "Bomber" and preventing it from succeeding in its bombing and landing attempt. The "Allied" P-51's should attempt to protect the Bomber from the "Axis" fighters. If all "bombers get shot down, then the "Axis" team is declared the winner. If any "Bomber" is successful at its landing attempt at Interlaken airfield, the "Allied" team is declared the winner. (****VERY IMPORTANT****) IF YOU GET SHOT DOWN, YOU SHOULD RETURN TO THE READY ROOM AND WAIT UNTIL THE ENTIRE MISSION IS OVER.  (****DO NOT COME BACK INTO THE GAME AND ATTEMPT TO REJOIN THE MISSION****). Re-entering the game will commonly upset some people and may get you booted from the game by some hosts. Some hosts WILL allow you to re-enter, although this is unusual. If you are not sure, it would be a good idea to ask before you start the mission. That's pretty much all there is to it, except to always remember to

PROTECT THE BOMBERS
